Infertility refers to the inability of conceiving a child. Even a few decades ago, infertility was considered to be an issue in women. But it now has been well established that male infertility is as common as female infertility. One of every three cases of couple infertility is due to the male partner. However, it is not something that can not be treated. Similar to female infertility, several treatments are there to help cure male fertility. You can easily find male infertility treatment in Delhi and other cities across the country. Know about the available treatments for male fertility and the probable causes behind it with Gaudium IVF.

What causes male fertility

The following reasons can lead to male infertility.

  • Sperm abnormalities
  • Varicoceles i.e., swollen veins in the scrotum
  • Undescended testicle or any infection in the testicle
  • Retrograde ejaculation where the semen flows backward instead of out from the penis
  • Anejaculation that refers to zero semen production
  • Azoospermia i.e., lack of sperm in semen
  • Immunological infertility where the antibodies in the body prevent the sperm to act normally
  • Hormonal problem
  • Certain medication and chemotherapy
  • Genetic disorders

Treatment for male infertility

Infertility treatment depends on the factor causing infertility. However, in some cases identifying the cause may not be possible. Even under such circumstances, infertility can be treated. Male infertility treatment in Delhi or any other place can be categorized into three types, which are:

  • Surgical treatment
  • Non-surgical treatment
  • Assisted Reproduction Techniques (ART)

Surgical treatment

Surgical treatments are provided as the doctor sees fit. The surgical requirements based on the causes of fertility are as follows.

In cases of Varicoceles where there are any bulging or swollen veins in the testicle, Varicocelectomy is performed. The procedure tries to remove the bulge or fix the swollen veins to ensure proper sperm movement.

Azoospermia and semen blockage

There are multiple surgical choices for treating azoospermia. For treating semen blockage, a cystoscope is entered in the urethra and a tiny opening is made in the ejaculatory duct. It gets rid of the blockage.

Surgery can be done to undo vasectomy that prevents the sperm from reaching the semen.

Non-surgical treatment

Doctors often prescribe medications to improve fertility before going through surgery. Medication is always the first step for curing both anejaculation and the issue of retrograde ejaculation. If you are suffering from any abnormalities in hormone production, doctors might advise hormonal replacement. Any kind of testicle infection is more likely to be treated with medication as well.

Assisted Reproduction Techniques (ART)

Assisted Reproductive Techniques are applied if infertility treatments do not work out and the male fails to help in pregnancy via sexual intercourse.

Intrauterine Insemination

This is generally performed in cases of low sperm count. In this process, the male sperm is placed in the female uterus using a tube.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

The female eggs and male sperm are put in a petri dish for fertilization in this process and are then put in the female uterus.

These treatments can cost differently in different places. The starting point of the IVF treatment cost is Rs. 65,000 and can go up to Rs. 4,00,000. For example, IVF treatment cost in Delhi ranges from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 1,25,000. On the other hand, in Mumbai, the treatment can cost you anywhere from Rs. 2,00,000 to Rs. 3,00,000. The IVF treatment cost in Delhi is the average mark.

Male infertility treatments have a high success rate. However, if you still do not get any positive results, you can always opt for a donor or adoption.
